I was supposed to be leaving on my first camping trip in my new trailer today. Had all my supplies loaded up, trailer hitched up and systems checked out and all ready to pack up the cat and head out when I got a text from my brother -- their trailer was having issues and trip was off.

So I went ahead and canceled all my reservations and unloaded all the stuff I'd spent all morning loading into the truck and trailer. They may go ahead and reschedule their trip, if they get their trailer fixed soon enough, but it's already getting late in the year and I don't want to deal with it, so I'm done until spring.

I'm not actually really disappointed. For one thing, I can now go to both of the BTS concerts at the movies this week and next. I had planned to try to go to the showing on the 30th in Harrisburg on my way home from camping, but wasn't really sure I'd make it -- I'd have been driving up from Virginia that day, going to the movie at night, then driving the rest of the way home from Jonestown, PA the next day. And I was trying to make freebies up until the last minute, but still didn't have enough. I'd packed supplies to make more while camping, but wasn't really sure I'd actually spend time on it while I was traveling. So now I don't have to worry about trying to do both things, I can just relax and see BTS on the big screen without having to coordinate it with a camping trip. (It doesn't look like they're going to be streaming the concerts online, either, so the movies are the only way to see them.)

Plus I have really been pushing myself these past few days to get everything done for the trip, and I did manage to complete my to-do list, but I've been pretty tired and didn't sleep well at all last night, and am just as happy to stay home. I'll have more time to futz around with the trailer and get it ready for camping in the spring.

This seems to be the fall of things going awry. I have a long list of things that need to be dealt with:

1) My health insurance plan for next year has been discontinued, so I have to go shopping for new insurance. So far have found exactly zero plans that cover all my various doctors. So I have to decide if I want to change PCPs and keep some of my specialists, or keep my PCP and change all of my specialists. Or pay extra for a PPO and keep everybody, but pay higher copays for the ones that are out-of-network. Sigh.

2) The people who were coordinating snow plowing on the private roads on our side of the lake decided that our usual guy was too expensive and canceled him to go with a different service, except they are only hiring the new service to plow the road down below and not the road I live on. So I'm on my own to find plowing this winter. I've texted our usual guy to see if he's still plowing on our road this year but haven't heard back from him yet.

3) I changed my propane provider last May. The old provider still hasn't come to pick up their tanks. I've called and called and they keep saying it will be a couple of weeks and then they never come. Which isn't a super huge problem, but their tanks are taking up space in my yard, not to mention that they are nearly full of propane, and I should be getting a refund for the propane I paid for but never used. (Thought about asking the new propane guys if they can transfer the propane from the old tanks to the new ones but still need Suburban to come and get their stupid tanks.)

4) The dealer I bought my trailer from sold me a rather expensive tire blowout protection treatment that was supposed to be done before I picked up my trailer. But when I went to pick up the trailer they told me it hadn't been done because they ran out of the supplies. Didn't want to deal with it then, so I just brought the trailer home, but have been pestering the dealer ever since to either refund the cost of the tire treatment or get it done. They are supposed to send a mobile tech out to do it but I haven't heard from them to get it scheduled yet. I told the guy I'd be away camping from the 21st to the 31st, but now I'm not going so they could come any time. Need to call and let them know my trip has been canceled.

So, I've had all these things (and a few more) on my mind but figured I'd worry about them after my trip. Now that the trip has been canceled, I can start worrying about them again! Oh boy!
